A Swiss research company, Covalence, periodically publishes a ranking list that measures, according to various parameters, the ethics of large multinational corporations. At the bottom of the list are thus the worst companies in the world, those who have a serious negative impact on the lives of people for working conditions or the damage they cause. It is not really an exhaustive catalog of the evils of the world, but it is a good approximation.

Le tasse sono tornate prepotentemente al centro del dibattito politico italiano e questo è a mio avviso un bene perchè si tratta di un argomento importante che coinvolge i cittadini e l'economia italiana molto più dei processi che il premier sta tentando in tutte le maniere di evitare. Berlusconi aveva promesso di abbassare le tasse. Non è un mistero che questo obiettivo è stato ribadito dal premier e dai suoi innumerevoli volte, sin dal 1994.

I recenti scontri tra Brunetta e Tremonti segnano profondamente non solo il governo Berlusconi, ma segnano anche un'epoca. Un'epoca che, in Italia, dura da quasi 20 anni. E' l'epoca del "vorrei ma non posso". L'epoca nella quale servirebbero grossi investimenti per rimettere il nostro paese al passo con gli altri stati dell'occidente moderno. Mettiamo il caso che vi sia una pianura, particolarmente fertile. In questa pianura vi è un appezzamento di terreno, adattissimo per farvi pascolare le pecore. Mettiamo il caso che il proprietario di questo appezzamento lo faccia stimare da uno stimato agronomo e gli dica che quel pezzo di terra può sostenere il nutrimento di 500 pecore. Il proprietario dunque sparge in giro la voce che darà in affitto quel pezzo di terra per farvi pascolare i lanosi animali.

I dati sulla disoccupazione sono sempre più allarmanti. Né il governatore della Banca d’Italia né l’Unione Europea fanno nulla per nasconderli, e a ragione.
La crisi è stata ed è ancora molto pesante, i governi di tutto il mondo non possono pensare di dimenticare l’ultimo anno e tornare a fare come nulla fosse, appoggiando l’economia criminale che ha causato la crisi.

Economy Minister Tremonti has just unleashed a debate on all the Italian newspapers stating that a permanent job is better than a precarious one. It's such an obvious  statement, as he admitted himself, but caused a sensation because in our country at least since 10 years almost all political forces have carefully refrained from defending permanent work. Widespread precarious jobs with fixed-terms and low wages contracts are the land of toys for Italian companies, who have no intention of giving them up.
