Dead body in the Mediterranean Sea
73 migrants died of starvation in the channel of Sicily, after 20 days adrift in one of the most watched sea of the world. The five survivors, a woman, two men and two minors, say they had sighted several fishing boats that didn't help them. Only the last one gave them a little food and water. Humanitarian organizations consider the story true for the simple fact that is not the first episode of migrants who die at sea in the mediterranean.
Besides, in recent days at least 7 dead bodies were spotted by the Maltese in Libyan waters.
The 78 migrants were almost all Eritreans who fled from a country considered one of the worst in the world for human rights and individual freedoms, which probably could have obtained the status of political refugees in Europe.
Now it's hard to understand how 78 people could stay at sea for twenty days, to die slowly of hunger and thirst, and no one saw them. What nationality were the vessels that ignored them? Although none of them has stopped, someone would have warned the Libyan, Maltese and Italian authorities? Relatives of the immigrants knew and raised the alarm, they will certainly also informed the authorities, that apparently did nothing.
This was done intentionally? The impression is that Malta and Libya have not the slightest problem to let immigrants die at sea. Libyans may consider it a way to speed up the work, so they don't even have to do the effort to kill them on their territory as usually. Italy has decided to adopt the same policy? Our country is already violating all international conventions to which we are signatory on immigration and refugees. Now we also violate basic international laws, such as the obligation of rescue at sea?
On the newspaper of the Italian bishops, the comment was harsh and the behavior the West is compared to that given during the holocaust. After all everyone said they knew nothing but the truth is that they did not want to see anything.
It's a long time past since Berlusconi was crying for immigrant deaths during the first Prodi government, saying no one should allow similar tragedies to happen. It's past time since Northern League party leader Bossi said Italy should shoot immigrants boats.
The policy in force in Italy is exactly that. They just decided that shooting is not necessary. Just leave them to die without doing anything.
The only question now is whether all the Italians are in agreement that the best policy on immigration is extermination. If all italians prefer not to see what's happening. If all italians intend to allow it without doing anything. The genocide and racist policies of Nazism and fascism in the end met strong resistance and were defeated. But today it seems that the resistance is still too weak, while the majority of italians doesn't know and doesn't want to know.

Who said they were 78? the immigrants in the boat?
and why Malta didnt help them seeing that it take a lot of money from the EU?
but I have read that Malta helped them, giving gas, water and suggested to go ahead straight to Italy; very helpful
a lot of questions to be answered i think
