Berlusconi has now exceeded any bounds of decency. And not just for the news about his adventurous sex life with an incalculable number of young women, some became parliamentarians, some actresses and some even ministers. Berlusconi has now exceeded the limit of decency threatening Tg3, one of the three national tv news, because it would have attacked the government "with the money of all."
In a country where he owns three national television stations and controls the other two with the money of all, where he drove out from public television, paid with money of all, journalists and comedians unwelcomed to him, where just a single national television on 6 continues to make real journalism like all the international media do, reporting the scandals that he himself has created with his behavior, in a country like that, now almost devoid of press freedom, Berlusconi dares to attack the only national television not yet on his payroll and threatens to take actions against it.
That Berlusconi was a dictator with no shame we already knew. That his lack of shame could be up to this point was predictable given his past behavior, but we can not prevent a motion of revulsion and rebellion in the face of such a thing. Berlusconi's party has 40% of the votes and with the votes of his allies has a majority government. In which democracy in the world that would justify the occupation of the media at the level that he has implemented? Nowhere in the world.
But what leaves stunned is that he still hasn't enough. He has near total control of almost all of Italy, but he always wants more. The fact is that in any other country in the world press would have massacred him and the public would have already forced him to resignation since months for all that he has done, while in Italy most people don't even know what happens because his three televisions and two out of three public television stations do not say anything or merely report his denials. Berlusconi is totally devoid of a sense of proportion, of a sense of limits. An indecent dictator.
